Squirrel SQL Running Slow?

Sometimes you will notice that the Squirrel SQL takes forever to render results. Frequently this happens after running a large insert statement pasted in the client editor. Squirrel stores the history of all statements previously run in a XML file under your home folder/.squirrel-sql/sql_history.xml.

You can remove the large bean objects in the sql_history.xml file, restart your application and squirrel should load and respond a lot better.

  1. You can check free tool Valentina Studio http://www.valentina-db.com/en/valentina-studio-overview which I think is far superior to other GUI tools.
